In vitro
Antileishmanial agent-16 administered at 0-20 µM for 24 hours exhibits potent anti-promastigote and amastigote activities against L. major with respective IC 50 values of 0.59 µM and 0.81 µM [1]. The compound demonstrates high selectivity towards L. amastigote and safety towards mammalian cells (VERO cells), as evidenced by a selectivity index (SI) of 311.4 [1]. The SI is the ratio of in vitro cytotoxicity (CC 50 in µM) to the antileishmanial activity against amastigotes (IC 50 in µM).
