Carboxyebselen (HOOC-Ebs) is an endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) inhibitor that is potent and selective.
In vivo
Carboxyebselen (HOOC-Ebs) inhibits NOS present in enzymatic preparations from bovine endothelium, porcine cerebella, and murine spleen. HOOC-Ebs (0.1-30 μM) causes a concentration-dependent endothelium-independent relaxation of rings of rabbit aorta.[1]
