Description
O-Desmethylangolensin, an intestinal bacterial metabolite of soybean sapogenins, possesses anticancer and antioxidant activities, and inhibits the proliferation of human breast cancer MCF-7 cells by inducing apoptosis and promoting cell cycle arrest.
In vitro
O-Desmethylangolensin and equol did not affect lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release but showed inhibition of cell growth at higher concentrations (<75 µM).O-Desmethylangolensin reduced the growth of approximately 30% of HepG2 cells at a concentration of 75 µM. [1]
