Description | Cirsilineol (Eupatrin) is isolated from the herb of Artemisia vestita Wall and shows immunosuppressive, anti-proliferative, and anti-tumor properties. Cirsilineol selectively induces apoptosis via the mitochondrial pathway. |
In vitro | Cirsilineol (0.1, 1, 10 μM) dose-dependently inhibits single mixed lymphocyte reaction and the proliferation of Concanava A-induced T-cells in Splenocytes. Cirsilineol (1, 5, 10 μM) inhibits IFN-γ-induced Tyr701 phosphorylation of STAT1 and the activation of JAK2 in Splenic CD4+ T cells[3]. |
In vivo | In female C57BL/6, BALB/c, and DO11.10 transgenic mice with TNBS, Cirsilineol (3-30 mg/kg) reduces inflammatory infiltration, restores the destructive mucosal architecture, and remisses edema thus improving the effects on the body weights and survival rate of mice. Cirsilineol ameliorates TNBS-induced Th1-mediated colitis by inhibiting IFN-γ/STAT1/T-bet signaling in CD4+ T cells[1]. |
