Artelinic acid is a water-soluble artemisinin analog with antimalarial activity and is used for the treatment of multi-drug resistant strains of Plasmodium falciparum.
In vivo
In adult male beagle dogs aged 3-5 years, artelinic acid (10 mg/kg; i.v.) had an elimination half-life of 0.37 hours, a clearance of 14.99 mL/min/kg, a volume of distribution at steady state of 9.52 L, and an AUC0-12h of 11219 ng h/mL[1].
