Description | (Rac)-Idroxioleic acid (2-Hydroxyoleic acid) sodium is a synthetic derivative of oleic acid (OA) that binds to the plasma membrane, altering lipid composition. This compound exhibits antitumor properties. |
In vitro | (Rac)-Idroxioleic acid sodium at concentrations of 25-75 μM over a duration of 72 hours inhibits the growth of Jurkat cells in a time- and concentration-dependent manner, with an IC50 value of approximately 40 μM. Additionally, at concentrations ranging from 25-50 μM, this compound significantly enhances the proteolytic cleavage of PARP, a marker of apoptosis, also in a concentration-dependent fashion. |
In vivo | The chemical compound '(Rac)-Idroxioleic acid sodium' significantly and markedly inhibits the growth of mouse tumors that infect Jurkat cells. |
