Bucumolol (Bucumarol) is a β-adrenergic blocking agent and a local anesthetic with antihypertensive activity and can be used to study myocardial infarction.
In vivo
METHODS: Bucumolol (2.5, 5 mg/Kg, subcutaneous injection) was administered to rats to observe the physiological effects of acute ligation of the left coronary artery.
RESULTS:Bucumolol pretreatment alleviated the electrocardiographic Q wave abnormalities, tachycardia, and frequent ventricular fibrillation caused by acute ligation of the left coronary artery in rats; and improved the survival rate in a dose-related manner. [2]
