Description | Liothyronine (Tresitope) is an active form of thyroid hormone, binding to β1 thyroid hormone receptor (TRβ1), and activates its activity. |
In vitro | Triiodothyronine (0.01-0.1 μM) results in a decrease in the TRalpha1:TRalpha2 mRNA ratio in HepG2 cells. High liothyronine levels induces a low TRalpha1:TRalpha2 ratio which can protect the cell from excessive triiodothyronine-induced gene expression[1]. |
Synonyms | Tresitope, O-(4-Hydroxy-3-iodophenyl)-3,5-diiodo-L-tyrosine, Triiodothyronine, L-3,3',5-Triiodothyronine, 3,3',5-Triiodo-L-thyronine, Lyothyronine |
