Marein

🥰Excellent
Catalog No. TN1911Cas No. 535-96-6

Marein shows neuroprotective effect on PC12 cell damage induced by methylglyoxal, which is due to a reduction of damage to mitochondria function and activation of the AMPK signal pathway, it may be a potent compound for preventing/counteracting diabetic encephalopathy.

In vitro
To clarify whether Marein, a major compound from the hypoglycemic plant Coreopsis tinctoria, prevents PC12 cell damage induced by MG, we cultured PC12 cells in the presence of MG and Marein. Marein attenuated MG-induced changes in the mitochondrial membrane potential (ΔΨm), mitochondrial permeability transition pores (mPTPs), intracellular Ca2+ levels, the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS), glutathione (GSH)/glutathione disulfide (GSSG) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP), and the increase in the percentage of apoptotic cells. Marein also increased glyoxalase I (Glo1) activity, phospho-AMPKα± (Thr172) and Bcl-2 expression and diminished the activation of Bax, caspase-3 and inhibitor of caspase-activated deoxyribonuclease (ICAD). Importantly, pretreatment of cells with Marein diminished the compound C-induced inactivation of p-AMPK. Molecular docking simulation showed that Marein interacted with the γ subunit of AMPK[1]

In Vivo Formulation Calculator (Clear solution)

Please enter your animal experiment information in the following box and click Calculate to obtain the mother liquor preparation method and in vivo formula preparation method:
TargetMol | Animal experimentsFor example, your dosage is 10 mg/kg Each animal weighs 20 g, and the dosage volume is 100 μL . TargetMol | Animal experiments A total of 10 animals were administered, and the formula you used is 5% TargetMol | reagent DMSO+30% PEG300+5% Tween 80+60% ddH2O. So your working solution concentration is 2 mg/mL。
Mother liquor preparation method: 2 mg of drug dissolved in 50 μL DMSOTargetMol | reagent (mother liquor concentration of 40 mg/mL), if you need to configure a concentration that exceeds the solubility of the product, please contact us first.
Preparation method for in vivo formula: Take 50 μL DMSOTargetMol | reagent main solution, add 300 μLPEG300TargetMol | reagent mix well and clarify, then add 50 more μL Tween 80, mix well and clarify, then add 600 more μLddH2OTargetMol | reagent mix well and clarify
