Description
Chlorquinaldol (5,7-Dichloro-8-hydroxy-2-methylquinoline) is a Standardized Chemical Allergen. The physiologic effect of chlorquinaldol is by means of Increased Histamine Release, and Cell-mediated Immunity.
In vivo
Chlorquinaldol, a derivative of hydroxy-8-quinoline, exhibits enhanced bactericidal activity in duodenal-pancreatic secretions. At concentrations of 0.1-0.2% (w/v), Chlorquinaldol reduced Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis by approximately 10^4 within 60 minutes.
