Description
Curcumol ((-)-Curcumol), a pure monomer derived from Rhizoma Curcumaeis, exhibits antitumor activities.
In vivo
In fibroblast-like synoviocytes, Curcumol can inhibit cell proliferation and DNA synthesis, contributing to the improvement of rheumatoid arthritis. In human lung adenocarcinoma cells, Curcumol induces cell death through the induction of G(2)/M phase arrest, nuclear fragmentation, externalization of phosphatidylserine, and rapid translocation of Bax from the cytoplasm to the mitochondria.
