Lp-PLA2 is a phospholipase A2 enzyme involved in the hydrolysis of lipoprotein lipids or phospholipids. Lp-PLA2 travels with LDL and rapidly cleaves oxidized phosphatidylcholine molecules derived from the oxidation of LDL[1].
