Rivanicline 2HCl is a selective neuronal nicotinic receptor inhibitor with a high affinity for the α4β2 subtype.
In vitro
The study investigates the impact of selectively inhibiting Akt in proliferating cells that express Trop-2. In cells expressing Trop-2, Akt inhibition, whether achieved through silencing or specific drugs, significantly reduces cell proliferation in a dose-dependent manner.[1]
In vivo
When Trop-2-expressing tumors are subcutaneously injected into animal models, they exhibit a remarkable reduction in growth upon treatment with specific drugs targeting Akt activity. This underscores the central functional role of Akt in mediating the Trop-2-dependent growth stimulus.[1]
