Bioactivity

Description	Indomethacin (Indometacin) is a Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug. The mechanism of action of indomethacin is as a Cyclooxygenase Inhibitor.
In vitro	In rats, Indomethacin at a dosage of 7.5 mg/kg induces acute damage and inflammation in the distal jejunum and proximal ileum. Oral administration of Indomethacin at 20 mg/kg increases the total area of gastric mucosal erosion and the concentration of lipid peroxides.
In vivo	Indomethacin modulates TCF activity, thereby reducing the transcription of β-catenin/TCF-responsive genes without disrupting the formation of the β-catenin/TCF complex.
