Sarizotan 2HCl is an hERG channel inhibitor and 5-hydroxytryptamine 5-HT1A receptor agonist with potential antidepressant effects for the study of Parkinsonian movement disorders.
In vivo
Compared to rats treated with levodopa alone, Sarizotan 2HCl (10 ng and 1 μg in 0.3 μL solution) administered subthalamicly at higher doses (10 ng and 1 μg) significantly reduced rotational response scores in male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing 220-240 g.
