Fervenulin is isolated from a nematicidal actinomycete Streptomyces sp. CMU-MH021 with nematicidal activity. It also inhibits egg hatch and J2 mortality of M. incognita (MICs: 30 μg mL and 120 μg mL, respectively).

Isoschaftoside is used as an intercrop due to its allelopathic inhibition of parasitism by Striga hermonthica, an obligate parasitic weed that can devastate the maize crop. Isoschaftoside has anti-tumor, antioxidant, and antimicrobial activities, it also possesses strong nematicidal activity against M. incognita.

Calarene, an insecticide derived from the stem of Kadsura heteroclite, is toxic to Meloidogyne incognita, Sitophilus zeamais, and mosquitoes, and can be utilized in the research of plant pests and mosquito control [1] [2].
