Phloretin (NSC-407292) is a well-known inhibitor of eukaryotic urea transporters, blocks VacA-mediated urea and ion transport. Phloretin is a dihydrochalcone, a type of natural phenols. It can be found in apple tree leaves and the Manchurian apricot. It promotes potent antioxidative activities in peroxynitrite scavenging and the inhibition of lipid peroxidation. It has been found to inhibit the growth of several cancer cells and induce apoptosis of B16 melanoma and HL60 human leukemia cells.

3-Nitro-L-tyrosine (3-Nitrotyrosine) is the major product from the spontaneous reaction of peroxynitrite with tyrosine. Formation of nitrotyrosine can indicate the formation of peroxynitrite by a nitric oxide (NO)-dependent oxidative damage.

Uric Acid (Lithic acid) is an oxidation product of oxypurines such as XANTHINE and HYPOXANTHINE. It is the final oxidation product of purine catabolism in humans and primates, whereas in most other mammals URATE OXIDASE further oxidizes it to ALLANTOIN.

(+)-1-Hydroxypinoresinol 1-O-beta-D-glucoside exhibits peroxynitrite, total ROS and DPPH radical scavenging activities with IC50 values of 3.23 +/- 0.04, 2.26 +/- 0.07 and 32.3 +/- 0.13 microM, respectively.

Kobusin, a Calmodulin inhibitor, shows mild antiplasmodial,anti-inflammatory, and cytotoxic activities; it may be beneficial for the treatment of neuro-inflammatory diseases through the inhibition of iNOS expression and peroxynitrite scavenging potential. Kobusin can mildly reduce gastrointestinal motility in mice, it activates CFTR and CaCCgie chloride channel activities in mouse colonic epithelia and shows inhibitory effects toward ANO1/CaCC-mediated short-circuit currents in ANO1/CaCC-expressing FRT cells.

Isorhamnetin 7-O-glucoside has antioxidant activity, it showed the peroxynitrite and DPPH scavenging activities with IC50 values of 2.07 /- 0.17 and 13.3 microM, respectively.

Cyanidin-3-O-arabinoside chloride has antioxidant activity. It reduces the peroxynitrite-induced suppression of mitochondrial respiration, DNA damage, PARS activation and vascular dysfunction in HUVECs.

Uric acid sodium, scavengers of oxygen radicals, is a potent and common antioxidant that helps maintain stable blood pressure and resist oxidative stress. Uric acid sodium, which removes reactive oxygen species (ROS) such as singlet oxygen and peroxynitrite, has an inhibitory effect on lipid peroxidation and is associated with the pathogenesis of gout joint disease and the formation of calcium oxalate stones.

Pyridoxal phosphate (Vitamin B6 phosphate) is the active form of vitamin B6 and a coenzyme for many pyridoxal phosphate (PLP)-dependent enzymes. PLP is involved in numerous enzymatic transamination, decarboxylation and deamination reactions; it is necessary for the synthesis of amino acids and amino acid metabolites, and for the synthesis and or catabolism of certain neurotransmitters, including the conversion of glutamate into gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and levodopa into dopamine. PLP can be used as a dietary supplement in cases of vitamin B6 deficiency. Reduced levels of PLP in the brain can cause neurological dysfunction.

Pyridoxal 5'-phosphate hydrate (PLP)(1:x), the active form of vitamin B6, is a cofactor for many different enzymes involved in transamination reactions, including mitochondrial cysteine desulfurase, cystathionine γ-synthase, various aminotransferases, and a d-serine dehydratase.
