Platelet-Derived Growth Factors, PDGFs

Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) is one among numerous growth factors that regulate cell growth and division. In particular, PDGF plays an important role in blood vessel formation, blood vessel growth in existing vascular tissues, mitosis of mesenchymal cells, and chemotaxis of mesenchymal cells. Platelet-derived growth factor is a dimeric glycoprotein that can be composed of two A subunits (PDGF-AA), two B subunits (PDGF-BB), or one of each (PDGF-AB). There are five different isoforms of PDGF that activate cellular response through two different receptors. Known ligands include: PDGF-AA (PDGFA), -BB (PDGFB), -CC (PDGFC), and -DD (PDGFD), and -AB (a PDGFA and PDGFB heterodimer). The ligands interact with the two tyrosine kinase receptor monomers, PDGFRα (PDGFRA) and -Rβ (PDGFRB). Recombinant PDGF is used in medicine to help heal chronic ulcers and in orthopedic surgery and periodontics as an alternative to bone autograft to stimulate bone regeneration and repair.

PDGF-BB Protein, Human, Recombinant
TMPJ-00735
Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Subunit B (PDGFB) belongs to the PDGF VEGF growth factor family. Platelet-derived growth factor is a potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin. PDGFB can exist either as a homodimer (PDGF-BB) or as a heterodimer with the platelet-derived growth factor alpha polypeptide (PDGF-AB), where the dimers are connected by disulfide bonds. Mutations in this gene are associated with meningioma.Binding of PDGFB to its receptor elicits a variety of cellular responses. In addition, PDGFB is released by platelets upon wounding and plays an important role in stimulating adjacent cells to grow and thereby heals the wound.

PDGF-BB Protein, Mouse, Recombinant (His)
TMPJ-00562
Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Subunit B (PDGFB) belongs to the PDGF VEGF growth factor family. Platelet-derived growth factor is a potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin. PDGFB can exist either as a homodimer (PDGF-BB) or as a heterodimer with the platelet-derived growth factor alpha polypeptide (PDGF-AB), where the dimers are connected by disulfide bonds. As growth factor,it plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell migration, survival and chemotaxis. It is required for normal proliferation and recruitment of pericytes and vascular smooth muscle cells in the central nervous system, skin, lung, heart and placenta. PDGFB also plays an important role in wound healing.

PDGFB Protein, Cynomolgus, Recombinant (mFc)
TMPY-02395
Platelet-derived growth factor-B (PDGFB) is necessary for normal cardiovascular development. The administration of PDGFB alone normalized tumor vasculature by increasing periendothelial coverage and vascular functionality. Interestingly, this effect exerted by PDGFB was also observed in the presence of DAPT. So PDGFB is able to improve tumor vascularity and allows the anticancer action of DAPT in the tumor. PDGFB Protein, Cynomolgus, Recombinant (mFc) is expressed in HEK293 mammalian cells with mFc tag. The predicted molecular weight is 38.9 kDa and the accession number is G7PFK7.

PDGFA Protein, Human, Recombinant (His)
TMPY-05056
Platelet-derived growth factor alpha (PDGFA) is frequently upregulated in various cancers and thought to function as a key player in the development and progression of tumor growth by regulating aspects of cell proliferation, angiogenesis and metastasis. The human platelet-derived growth factor A chain gene (PDGFA) on chromosome 7p22 encodes an important mitogen. Within PDGFA lies a complex minisatellite structure that results in partial duplications of exon 4 and the IVS4 splice donor site. PDGFA Protein, Human, Recombinant (His) is expressed in yeast with His tag. The predicted molecular weight is 16.3 kDa and the accession number is AAA60045.1.
