Transketolase

Transketolase is a thiamine diphosphate (ThDP)-dependent enzyme that plays a crucial role in the pentose phosphate pathway and the reductive pentose phosphate cycle of photosynthesis. There are three isoforms of transketolase: TKT, TKTL1, and TKTL2. Its activity requires the participation of thiamine diphosphate and divalent cations (Mg2+, Ca2+, etc.).

Oxythiamine
T12354136-16-3
Oxythiamine (Hydroxythiamin) is an antivitamin of thiamine and a transketolase (TK) inhibitor. Oxythiamine inhibits cancer cell proliferation and induces cell cycle arrest. Oxythiamine has potential anticancer activity, inhibits non-oxidative synthesis of ribose, and induces apoptosis.
