Dryopteridaceae

Dryopteridaceae, the shield fern family, contains 40–50 genera and about 1,700 species. Cyrtomium fortunei J. Smith belongs to Dryopteridaceae and is known as holly fern. The rhizomes of this fern, called Guan-zhong in China (China Food and Drug Administration 2015), have been widely used as a traditional medicinal plant for clearing heat and damp, cooling blood and hemostasis, and insecticide.
